Short answer
After you request a prop-firm payout, the provider may check whether your account and request meet its current rules, confirm identity or payment details, and then initiate a transfer. The sequence and timing depend on the exact provider, account model, and payout method. “Processing time” is not always the same as the time money appears in a bank or wallet.
Before you press Submit, run through these 12 checks. The examples below describe provider help pages checked on 28 October 2026; they are examples, not endorsements or a prediction of what will happen on your account.
The 12-check payout checklist
- Confirm the account type and stage. Is this an evaluation account, a simulated funded account, or a specific instant/express product? A payout rule for one model may not apply to another. Find the exact account name in your dashboard and match it to the provider’s current terms.
- Check that a reward request is actually available. Confirm the eligible request date, trading cycle, minimum amount, profit split, and any prerequisites in your dashboard. For example, FTMO says reward requests for its FTMO Trader accounts can be made on or after the 14th day from the first trade on that account, subject to its conditions. That is an FTMO-specific rule, not a universal waiting period. FTMO’s reward-withdrawal FAQ
- Read the whole rule set—not just the payout headline. Check trading objectives, prohibited conduct, consistency rules if applicable, and any product-specific conditions that could affect eligibility. Save the version or date of the terms you relied on.
- Check open positions and pending orders. FTMO and FundingPips both state that positions and pending orders must be closed before a reward request. FundingPips additionally says to wait at least 15 minutes after closing the last trade. Other providers may set different conditions, so do not transfer one firm's rule to another. - Consider what the withdrawal does to account limits. A payout can change the balance while a loss limit remains tied to a previous amount or another formula. FTMO specifically warns that the Maximum Loss Limit on its Instant Account does not reset after a reward withdrawal. Check your own model’s equity, balance, drawdown, and post-withdrawal rules before acting.
- Check identity and account status. See whether identity verification, a contract, or additional compliance information is required before the first payment. FTMO says it must approve FTMO Identity for the relevant first Instant Account reward request. Do not wait until the last minute to discover an incomplete verification step.
- Understand what “review” means. A provider can review account activity or ask for clarification. Read what its terms say about a request being held, adjusted, or declined; do not assume that a dashboard button means approval is guaranteed. Keep communications inside the provider’s official account or support channel.
- Choose the payment method only after checking availability. Minimums, fees, currencies, supported countries, and processing partners can differ. FundingPips lists card, crypto, Rise, and bank transfer options, with some regional limits and different minimums. Availability in a help article does not confirm that a method is available to every Indian customer or every account.
- Match the recipient details exactly. Check your legal name, bank details, email, wallet address, and network against the provider’s instructions. FundingPips says reward destinations must be in the trader’s own name and specifies ERC20 for the USDT/USDC option on its guide. Sending crypto to an incompatible network or address can result in irreversible loss.
- Check fees and the amount you will actually receive. Distinguish the requested gross amount from the amount after provider, bank, card, currency-conversion, or network charges. FundingPips notes that crypto service, exchange-rate, and network fees may reduce the final amount. Review the amount shown at confirmation.
- Know whether a request can be changed. FundingPips says a submitted reward request cannot be cancelled or modified. Treat the final confirmation screen as consequential: verify the amount, method, and details before accepting.
- Separate provider processing from payment settlement. FundingPips describes 1–3 working days for processing and asks users to allow additional working days for funds to reflect. FundedNext’s help page describes a 24-hour processing commitment for its Performance Rewards but excludes bank-transfer requests from that Brand Promise and notes that incorrect payment details can cause delays. These are each provider’s own statements, not a cross-provider service guarantee. FundedNext’s processing-time page
Keep a simple request record
Before submitting, save a dated copy or screenshot of the relevant account rules, your closed-position status, the amount and payment method selected, and the confirmation number or email. If the provider’s stated window passes, contact its official support channel with that record. Avoid sharing passwords, one-time codes, or full card security details in messages.
For traders in India, independently check whether your selected payment route works for your location and circumstances. This checklist is educational, not legal, tax, banking, or financial advice. A provider’s published payout process does not establish that a particular person is eligible or that a payment will be approved or arrive by a certain date.
FAQ: How long does a prop-firm payout take?
There is no single industry-wide timeline. Read the exact provider and account-model terms, identify when its clock starts and ends, then allow for separate bank, card, or wallet settlement time. A stated processing window is not a payout guarantee.
